The City of Trinidad is currently under Level 1 water restrictions. Customers may water any day of the week, but no watering may take place between 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Please read Resolution No. 1585 for more information about water restrictions.

All Water department employees will present themselves in a City issued uniform which includes a City of Trinidad issued identification badge and City vehicle. Never hesitate to request to see their identification badge.

About

The City’s water system provides for the storage and treatment of raw water utilizing North Lake as a primary source of water and Monument Lake as a secondary source of water transported to the Water Treatment Plant approximately 40 miles west of Trinidad.

The treated water then flows into the delivery and distribution system of potable water throughout the City and a substantial part of the developed rural area outside the City. This service area extends east to the Department of Corrections and the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site. There are over on hundred miles of pipe within the distribution system.

The operations of the City’s water treatment and water distribution systems are subject to the rules and regulations of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Valdez Water Station

The City of Trinidad Water Bulk Station is located on County Road 18.3 in Valdez, Colorado.

Directions: Head west along State Hwy12 for approximately 14 miles, head south on County Road 47.7, continue slightly to the west on County Road 18.2 and immediately head south on County Road 18.3 (the water station should be visible at this point).

*Customers utilizing the water filling station located in Valdez, CO must prepay for the water. If customer is paying by cash or check, please visit our office at 135 N Animas Street. Customers choosing to use a credit card can add money to their water account by accessing their individual online account.

New customers wishing to make use of the water filing station must contact Linda Vigil at 719-846-9843, ext 124 or by email.

*IF A NEW USER AGREEMENT HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED AND IT IS NOT ON FILE IN OUR OFFICE, YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE NEW SYSTEM.
